Very summer of Loveish! It almost sounds like there is a guitar in here and the bass sounds very retro! Cool and classic sounding yet fresh and original. Terrific music Dave, lovely melodies!!! Vocals are great with that special CEG flair for phrasing and story telling.

More great intelligent electro pop from you two. CEGGY seems to have a special voice for HV stuff which has an added mystical quality and sounds different from her other stuff. I swear I can hear guitars in this. This sound quite psychedelic. This Heliochrome Varona thing really has a unique place in the musical spectrum.

The piece kicks off with a nice punch and keeps it throughout. What a creative leadline. What a great tone to the instruments and to the mix. Beautiful slides and bends on the melody lines. The melody line that starts at 2:00 is perfection. The spoken lines are very effective at refocussing the listener (nice touch CEG ). The tone on CEG's voice is
And btw, normal probably is horrible.

Is that "What is Normal? Is it horrible?" thing a quote from somewhere? It reminds me of Nightmare Before Christmas, but I don't know if that's just a reminding thing or cuz it's a quote.
Anyway, this is a great one. Very cool vocal rhythms dancing around Dave's instruments.

Another one of those strangely baroque pieces you folks are becoming famous for
Very dadaistic... and strangely enticing... you've managed to give DM listeners a strange, creepy dark corner where they can hide when ordinary gets to be too much. Thanks for that!

I like the overall sound. Well organized, breaks in all the right places, thought provoking lyrics, and very professional instrumentation.
The percussion keeps driving and the guitar is great.
And Laurie's vocals, which are right on as usual.
Great mix. 1st class arrangement.

Nice nice nice. Definatly not anything near normal, but great. I've gotta say it again - you two work together so incredibly well. Dave's backing sounds almost like a guitar... half phased out of reality. And there at 2:00, there's that scale of Dave's that he's famous for. Something odd, something wonderful. I like it.

Positively swimming Love the question that Cosmicearthgirl asks when she pauses & speaks, very coool
A stomping busy little tale from the bubbling soup kitchen of dk & the pretty gingham table clothing of Cosmic as she tidies and works her magic around the delights fizzing in the oven.
Sweet and delicate, charming & balanced to a perfect bake, colourful enough to eat, another winner from the menu of good taste...voila!

Yeah, nice rhythms here. I love that synthy descent back into that catchy loop around :30ish (right after CEG's touted "what is normal?"). There's so much great personality in this track. Not your best vocal work (the recording's a little too breathy for my taste), but it's still got that amazing etherial hip hop holloween night satirical monster mashin' poet appeal to it that I can't get anywhere else, so I'm in no position to complain
Yep, I think kp said it best: something odd, something wonderful. I like it, too.
