There’s Dave playing that piano again. I can’t put my finger—or ear as it were—on that other instrument back there. It’s cool though. Hey, Mr. Ed. This is really odd, you know in a good sort of way. It sounds SO sad. Very original. I think I’m really going to have to listen to this a bunch of times to try to understand it. (I used “to” five times in that sentence) I really shouldn’t comment yet------- but------- oh well. –click-

Ahh yes - this song is obviously about .. errm (thinks quicky on the spot)DK's life story and how he was very sad until he found his famed FeZ which of course gives him musical super powers. In the context of popular music it's a bit of a oddity. In the context of Heliochrome Varona it's another interesting experimental piece. Definetly one of the top ten songs ever about head attire.

Very beautiful! The music compliments the vocals exquisitely.
Great mix. Great keys. Great tune.
I have a lot of respect for Laurie's vocal talents.
Quite an interesting tune. Very unique blend of style, lyrics, and instrumentation Very pleasing.

Cool song, guys! I like the plodding piano part and that almost organ-like synth. Some interesting chord progressions about halfway through.
The melancholy vocals complement the sparse instrumental structure nicely. This sounds like a funeral progression for a fez.

wow...loving the vocals. unique music gives the perfect bed. lead part gives an eerie feel without getting in the way. whole thing is quite different and non-conforming......well done.

Muxy is right - that plodding piano is a great driver for the piece. CEG's voice gets into the groove between the piano and the lead synth and finds her space and rhythm and creates a misty mood. You can see the boy/man drifting through life searching for completeness. There's something circus like in that piano, but I can't put my finger on what it is and it matches the storyline real well.

PODDING! That's the word I was looking for! That piano line is great! Vocals amazig, well written song-all around. The other synth stuff that fills in the back are creepy, like classic Alice Cooper. Cool stuff.

A very eerie, quirky feeling to this one... the synth sounds a little Middle Eastern in spots... it just keeps getting tripper, doesn't it? Very cool, guys!

I don't think I'll be looking at a fez the same way anymore.
Music fits the lifestyle of this character in search of wholeness and the vocals and lyrics are just beautiful.
You guys have created a nice ambience in this arrangment.
A little eerie that the meaning of life comes down to hugging a fez

Wow. I mean, , I am loving the melow depressing lonely thing here, the nearly random piano jerkiness, that "woo ee oo" synth way back there in the back. Or, well, it's not WAY back there, it's sitting in there pretty good. Right in there where it needs to be.
Nice vocals, too. I gotta give this another couple of listens before I really hear the lyrics. There's a lot to take in here, it's a good 'un.

I think this song is brilliant. It creates a remarkable emptiness through those stiff piano keys. That sad synth movement in the right ear. The vocals suit this perfect. The lyrics fit perfect in my opinion. They compliment the music and the vocals at the same time. Great job! All around really great. Love this style.

Interesting piano playing. I really need to learn to play piano. Although, if I did, I would learn to play this. Ooh, I like how you add the bass, some ts404ish thing and the vocals all at once. Sounds... well, definatly doesn't sound Western. Something east of the USA. Very beautiful, mellow, and emotional. But emotional in a definatly good way. Wonderful song.
Hey, this is almost 4 minutes. A bit long for you, Dave.

Haha, this one screams beginning keyboardist (believe me, I know, as I'm one myself!) yet the accompaniment being played with such chopsticks technique is a very charming one. It's like a graceful and extremely fine woman learning to flamenco: It's clear she's new to the discipline, but's still wonderful to watch That's right, Sad Fez Slow is the musical equivalent of a fine woman learning to flamenco :haha: Great work! Refreshing productions, as usual.
